Notable High Voltage Electricity duct installations (all pipes SDR 11 Class 1+ Electric Duct)
200m x "Two Way" (225mm and 110mm) at York Show Ground for HACS Construction, by directional drilling
Designed and installed 30m x 700mm steel casing installed by pipe ramming, this was to solve unexpected gravel and groundwater causing problems for a previous directional drilling attempt. Once installed, the HDD then transited through this steel pipe, allowing the internal carrier ducts to be installed.
80m x "Four Way" River Crossing by directional drilling, this was for 3 no 225mm and 1 no 110mm ducts, for 132kV cables, which went into the sleeve above.
Designed and installed 12 no 70m x 355mm + 125mm installations, through rock, by directional drilling at 3m spacings for 400kV cable diversions beneath a woodland.
Other notable installations
SWDD designed and installed a highly complex 120m rising main for Stonebridge Homes, crossing a busy A-Road in Barnard Castle and navigating a safe route through numerous existing services.
400m x 180mm Water Barrier Pipe installations for Port of Tyne in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, design and install.
70m x 225mm Surface Water road crossing installed by directional drilling for Esh, under the A167 for a housing development.
